Eastman Community
The
Eastman Community is a four-season recreational community
located amidst the pristine lakes, forested mountains and
college towns of Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee region. It consists of
3600 acres of greenery where the natural environment is revered
and protected. A living center of more than 1,100 homes and 369
condos, as well as additional undeveloped lots, appealing to
full-time residents, part-timers and weekenders, extending from
young families and working couples to empty nesters and
retirees, the full gamut of living patterns.
Features of the Eastman Community
- An area surrounding 325-acre Eastman
Lake and two smaller water bodies, offering delightful
swimming and sun-bathing on six beaches, as well as sailing,
canoeing, fishing and other water sports, a lake where a
resident pair of loons return each summer, nest and raise
their young.
- A community whose recreational
amenities are close at hand, conducive to participation,
including its own championship 18-hole golf course, 13
tennis courts, and indoor pool, miles of nature trails, 30
kilometers of cross-country ski trails, and a playing field
comprising a ball diamond, soccer field and courts for
volleyball and basketball.
-
An
invitation to join in a wide range of community activities,
from arts and crafts to bridge and investment clubs, from
tennis round-robins to golf tourneys, from road and swimming
races to sailing competitions, from get-togethers for adults
to a variety of programs for kids and teenagers.
- A society where everyone has come
from somewhere else, where people reach out to each other,
where new acquaintance comes easy and friendship digs deep,
where a spirit of camaraderie and mutual support is nurtured
and enriched.
- A self-governing community in which
dedicated volunteers guide a professional staff and carry on
a tradition of remaining fiscally responsible, debt-free, in
control of the community's own destinies.
- An ideal location, pastoral and quiet
yet just off I-89 two hours north of Boston and 3+ from
Connecticut (Exit 13 at Grantham), close to a full range of
services, excellent health-care facilities and the cultural
amenities of such nearby communities as New London, site of
Colby-Sawyer College, and Hanover, home to Dartmouth
College.
- One of only four New England places
included in "The 99 Best Residential and Recreational
Communities in America" published by John Wiley & Sons.
- A community where one of the
most-often-heard comments from residents is "How come we're
so lucky to have found this place?".
